The Top 100 Iowa Litigator is ASLA’s Featured Lawyer for winning a complete jury verdict this past October in Dalarna Farms v. Access Energy Cooperative, after a 3 1/2 week jury trial that was preceded by a successful interlocutory appeal filed with the Iowa Supreme Court that allowed assertion of fault against the Plaintiff (792 N.W.2d 656 (2010)). Ultimately, though Plaintiff’s economist projected economic loss of $8-9 million, Mr. Brown’s trial team won a no-damages verdict. The case impacted both the dairy and energy industries, and involved highly complex issues addressing electricity, stray voltage, statistical analysis, and dairy science and economics.
