Scrofano, Joseph A.
Joseph A. Scrofano graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with Special Honors. He has lived in Washington DC since 2005 when he moved to DC from Texas to attend American University’s Washington College of Law and School of International Service.
As a DC criminal defense lawyer, Mr. Scrofano has fought for more than 250 clients in DC Superior Court on a variety of offenses, including, among others, DUI’s, hit and runs, drug and gun possession, and traffic offenses as well as felonies. Mr. Scrofano is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. In 2013, Mr. Scrofano attended and graduated from Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyers College, a selective trial advocacy college located at the Thunderhead Ranch in Wyoming. At the Trial Lawyer's College, Mr. Scrofano spent three and a half weeks taking eight hours of class per day of intensive, hands on trial practice.
Before starting Scrofano Law, Mr. Scrofano spent two years clerking for the Honorable Natalia Combs Greene in the DC Superior Court where he worked on hundreds of complex civil and criminal cases and gained unique insight on how trial judges make decisions and respond to legal arguments. Mr. Scrofano founded Scrofano Law in 2010 with a desire to fight for individual rights.
